State seal of approval as a sign of compatibility of family and career

The challenges for companies and employees caused by the pandemic have led to a reorientation in many companies. The trend towards more digitization and home office has continued to increase, making it more necessary than ever to reconcile family and career. Clear regulations are necessary for this. EPS Electric Power Systems GmbH has now been officially awarded the state seal of approval.

The “Family-friendly employer” project started at EPS with an in-house strategy workshop. The content was the personal ideas of the employees for the compatibility of family and career, prerequisites for efficient, mobile working and family-friendly offers of the company. An important goal is to create a corporate culture that shows understanding for the needs of families. Companies that create a supportive environment often have engaged employees.

"In particular, our focus on mobile working has its finger on the pulse of the times and creates clear framework conditions for all employees."

After defining the goals and measures, the target agreement was signed by Stefanie Gutleder, Managing Director of EPS, and Ms. Verena Bröderbauer, Head of the Project at EPS, and presented and assessed by TÜV SÜD as part of an external audit. Finally, EPS was awarded the “family-friendly employer” certificate.

“This award has long been an important goal for EPS. Our team participated with great enthusiasm and defined practical measures in the workshop that make it even easier to achieve a good work-life balance. Our focus on mobile working in particular is in tune with the times and creates clear framework conditions for all employees,” explains Stefanie Gutleder.

"As a project manager, it was a great pleasure for me to be there from the strategy workshop to the assessment. For us, the topic of reconciling work and family life is very important. Only those who are committed to their team and create family-friendly working conditions with future prospects will be ahead in the long run," Verena Bröderbauer

Additional focus on “mobile working”

Other project contents included guidelines for the distribution of tasks and project implementation, flexible time management, family-friendly structures and structured parental leave management. EPS also chose the focus on “mobile working” and defined practical tips and framework conditions for working from home.

Verena Bröderbauer is proud of this award and emphasizes: “As a project manager, it was a great pleasure for me to be there from the strategy workshop to the assessment. For us, the topic of reconciling work and family life is very important. Only those who are committed to their team and create family-friendly working conditions with future prospects will be ahead in the long run.”
