Fire prevention for server rooms

famuSOL series are compact oxygen reduction systems for increased fire protection in sensitive rooms and areas. These can be integrated into either a 19″ cabinet or a wall cabinet. With the help of compressed air and a gas separation membrane, oxygen is extracted from the ambient air. The oxygen-reduced air is blown directly into the area to be protected. Permanent monitoring and control create an atmosphere in which no fire can start. The room remains accessible to people at all times.

Highest availability in the room

By combining the oxygen reduction system with a RAS (smoke aspiration system) early fire detection system, for example, short circuits or thermally overloaded components can be detected as they are already developing.

Advantages of fire prevention

  • Fires cannot occur in the first place – therefore no consequential damage caused by extinguishing agents
  • Safe and easy operation
  • No safety risk when handling gas cylinders
  • Maintenance and operating costs are minimized

famuSOL Fire Prevention Systems

Where there are the highest demands on the constant availability of IT hardware, a fire prevention system is the ideal solution. The fire prevention system makes use of the fact that fire requires oxygen in sufficient quantities for the combustion process. The normal ambient air consists of about 78.08 vol% nitrogen, 20.95 vol% oxygen and 0.97 vol% other gases. By specifically reducing the oxygen content of the air from 20.95 vol% to 15 vol% by supplying nitrogen to the areas to be protected, an atmosphere is created in which fires can be actively avoided. In addition, the areas will continue to be accessible to people. Through the controlled supply of nitrogen, the fire prevention system keeps the oxygen content of the air in the protected area permanently at the determined protection level. This means that the availability of the systems remains consistent.
