Why a cable tray in the data center?
A cable routing system is a collection of ducts, fittings, and mounting brackets that are assembled to protect fiber optic cables and high-performance copper cables from physical damage that can interfere with or interrupt signal transmission. It also provides versatile, scalable conduit that reduces the cost of maintaining existing network structures and implementing new services. Network problems can cost large companies hundreds of thousands of euros. Improperly routed or unprotected fiber optic cables, which are susceptible to various types of damage, contribute to this. Crushing, entrapment, or micro-bending can result in poorer signal transmission and cable breaks. Improper bend radius or macro bends of fiber and copper cables can increase signal attenuation, affecting overall system performance and resulting in material fatigue, resulting in signal failure in the longer term. Therefore, improperly routed cables run the risk of being damaged, leading to service interruptions and failures. Finding, checking, removing, and replacing damaged cables involves a lot of work, money, and network service failures.
Cable management system in the server room
- Panduit’s™ FIBERRUNNER™ cable routing system ensures maximum network reliability and reduced total cost of ownership. Rugged, engineered components with built-in bend radius control can be adapted to virtually any network application to provide optimal cable protection and ensure the best network performance.
This scalable cable routing solution is quick and easy to set up, reducing installation costs and accelerating the implementation of new services.
Wyr-Grid® Overhead Cable Tray Routing System
directs and protects the cabling between the main distribution area or the horizontal distribution area. The product features significantly reduce installation time, improve cable management and user safety. Splice connectors provide an integrated connection and improve user safety. The cable carrier system also effectively routes copper cables throughout the data center, even in applications where power cables are routed overhead. Another layer of Wyr-Grid Pathway can be easily and easily added to manage more cables®. In addition, fiber optic cabling cables can also be laid on a separate level of the Wyr-Grid® system.
Cable carrier systems and bending radius control EN 50600
We plan and install your cable tray and support you in complying with the EN 50600 data center standard. This stipulates that from an availability class of 2-4 cable carrier systems with bending radius control and overlength management must be installed above the server racks! In addition, the data center operator must ensure sufficient space for rewiring. We therefore recommend the installation of our fiber optic channel or our Wyr Grid System. Available in black and yellow color.
