Maria Anzbach / Kindberg- With the newly built data center in Kindberg, voestalpine Tubulars GmbH & Co KG is relying on state-of-the-art IT infrastructure and maximum reliability. The planning and implementation of the data center was carried out by EPS Electric Power Systems, an established provider of data center and safety power supply solutions in Central Europe. The project marks another successful milestone in the long-standing cooperation between the two Austrian companies, which began in 2018 with the construction of a first server room.
State-of-the-art data center sets standards in security, availability and sustainability
After an intensive planning phase, the decision was made in 2023 to build a stand-alone building as a data center that meets the highest security and availability standards. At the heart of the concept is a normative protection zone concept that ensures physical protection and access control at the highest level. The highly available, geo-redundant server room is equipped with redundant UPS systems that guarantee the highest level of reliability. This is complemented by a high-performance cooling system that relies on RCS racks with targeted cold air ducting. This technology ensures precise and efficient cooling of IT systems while optimizing energy consumption. Cooling is generated via redundant IT air conditioning systems with a free-cooling function, which make a further contribution to the energy efficiency and sustainability of the entire data center.
With the new data center, voestalpine Tubulars GmbH & Co KG is taking another important step towards a future-proof IT infrastructure. The production processes are optimally supported by the high reliability, the efficient energy supply and the modern cooling solution.

Efficiency and sustainability as important factors
The new IT infrastructure focuses on energy efficiency, security and long-term economic efficiency. Eaton’s redundant, modular and scalable IT UPS systems ensure an uninterruptible power supply and have been seamlessly integrated into the overall concept. State-of-the-art safety solutions, including technical fire prevention and continuous monitoring, ensure smooth operation.
