EPS ensures reliable energy supply at tpv Technology Park Villach|High Tech Campus Villach

An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is essential for research and development facilities. At the High Tech Campus Villach, EPS Electric Power Systems has successfully installed two Borri UPS systems Ingenio MAX 200kVA/200kW, each equipped with an external bypass switch and batteries. The UPS system was installed by the long-standing electrical engineering partner Elin and put into operation together with EPS. It ensures the highest level of operational continuity for one of Austria’s leading research institutions.

Maria Anzbach / Villach – The High Tech Campus Villach (HTCV), a center for electronics, microelectronics and mechatronics, houses companies, start-ups and research institutes on an area of 9,000 square meters. Silicon Austria Labs, one of the main tenants, in particular, needs an absolutely reliable power supply for its cleanroom processes. A power outage could damage highly sensitive equipment or jeopardize valuable research results.

“The requirements of our tenants are extremely demanding. Time-critical research projects and sensitive equipment require the highest level of security of supply. With the IT UPS systems from EPS, we have now found exactly the right solution and are taking an important step towards future-proofing. Our tenants benefit from the highest level of security of supply, and we can do even better justice to our role as an innovation center,” explains Bernhard Lamprecht, Managing Director of the High Tech Campus Villach.

"We are proud to be part of this important project. With Borri's Ingenio MAX systems, we have implemented a solution that meets the requirements for space and efficiency as well as maximum reliability."

Efficient power supply for sensitive research

The Borri Ingenio MAX 200kVA/200kW IT-UPS systems supplied by EPS impress with their high energy efficiency, a low MTBF value (Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), parallel capability, and their compact footprint. This enables space-saving and efficient integration into the existing infrastructure with the highest availability requirements. The two external bypass switches (EBS1250A-lock) ensure complete uninterrupted bypass of the UPS systems during maintenance work or UPS replacement, without affecting ongoing operations.

“We are proud to be part of this important project. With the Ingenio MAX systems from Borri, we have implemented a solution that meets the requirements for space and efficiency as well as maximum reliability,” emphasizes Peter Reisinger, Managing Director and Sales Manager at EPS. “The cooperation with strong partners such as Elin and the Italian UPS manufacturer Borri underlines our claim to deliver the best solutions for our customers.”

Experience and expertise for seamless implementation

The installation of the systems was carried out by the company Elin, which has been a partner of the tpv Technology Park Villach |HTCV is active in the field of electrical engineering. “The requirements in the buildings of the High Tech Campus Villach and its tenants were high, but together with EPS we were able to implement them successfully. EPS’s expertise and reliability made a significant contribution to ensuring that the project ran smoothly,” emphasizes Jürgen Stern, Site Manager Klagenfurt at Elin.

The new UPS solution not only offers stability and efficiency, but also supports the High Tech Campus Villach in its role as a hub for technological innovation.

The project scope in detail

  • 2 pieces of IT UPS systems Borri Ingenio Max 200kVA / 200kW
  • 2 pieces of external IT-UPS GTC battery systems (99.99% pure lead) equipped with ESS technology
  • EPS EBS 1250A-G External Bypass Switch with UPS Sync Interface for Uninterruptible UPS Bypass

Investment in the digital future: HABAU relies on data centre from EPS Electric Power Systems

The HABAU GROUP has invested in the modernization of its IT infrastructure – with a high-availability data center, planned and implemented by EPS Electric Power Systems. The owner-managed family business with around 6,500 employees has been operating internationally for more than a century and is now one of the leading players in the Austrian construction industry. Whether it’s building construction, civil engineering, tunnel construction or pipeline construction, the HABAU GROUP is broadly positioned – and therefore also needs an IT infrastructure that can keep pace with this complexity.
