Fail-safe IT infrastructure and power supply expertise from Austria
Minister of the Interior Gerhard Karner visited the Europe-wide data center and server room specialist EPS Electric Power Systems at the new company location in Dietmanns (Lower Austria). Karner was convinced of the company’s solutions in the field of emergency power supply and fail-safe IT infrastructure on site.
Dietmanns/Maria Anzbach, on 27. September 2023 – The Federal Minister of the Interior, Gerhard Karner, paid a visit to the Lower Austrian company EPS Electric Power Systems, a leader in the planning and construction of data centers and high-availability IT infrastructure. Together with Member of the National Council Lukas Brandweiner, and Christian Laister, Mayor of Groß Gerungs, the Minister took time to visit the newly constructed company building in Dietmanns (Waldviertel). It was ceremoniously opened in June 2023 and is the workplace of over 25 skilled workers from the region. From here, another location in Groß Gerungs and the company headquarters in Maria Anzbach, the family-run company has been implementing projects in Central Europe for 25 years. During this time, it provided organizations from business and industry, emergency services or research and educational institutions, among others, with highly specialized consulting services and equipment.
A special focus of the visit was on the areas of emergency power supply and high-availability IT infrastructures, the guarantee of which is of central importance for public and corporate security. Minister Karner was impressed by the company’s efforts in this area: “The security of the digital infrastructure is of crucial importance for the stability of our country. Well-trained specialists and innovative companies play a key role in this. Companies like EPS, which specialize in the development of highly secure solutions for data centers, testify to the performance and quality of Lower Austria as a business location.”
Josef Frühwirth, Managing Director of EPS, emphasized the importance of value creation in Austria and explains: “EPS serves the entire Central European region with highly available and energy-efficient products and solutions. Data centers and containers are planned and prefabricated here on site by our team in order to be installed later at our customers’ sites. Strengthening the local economy and creating highly qualified jobs in Austria is particularly important to us. We need the necessary framework conditions from politicians to remain competitive in the international environment.”
