Modernize IT power supply
Straubing/Munich – Since 2008, the ISAR Clinic has been caring for patients in 12 different departments with an interdisciplinary health concept. The focus is on highly qualified specialists, innovative medicine, individual care and state-of-the-art technology. In line with this requirement, the entire IT power supply of the clinic has now been replaced and brought up to date. The data center and power supply specialist EPS Rechenzentrum Infrastruktur GmbH , based in Straubing, Germany, was commissioned with the design and implementation, and implemented a new high-availability UPS system from Eaton, among other things.
Rental UPS system with “all-round carefree package”
The decision was made in favor of a flexible rental service model, which also includes a so-called “UPS managed service” as well as round-the-clock support. “The rental option suited us very well, as it reduces our investment costs, but at the same time allows us to use the best IT solution on the market. Comprehensive maintenance and support services are also particularly important to us. In the event of an error, we must be able to rely on the fact that action will be taken quickly and competently,” says Werner Baginski, IT Manager of the ISAR Clinic, pleased with the new IT infrastructure.
Diana Engel, responsible for sales at EPS, adds: “With the managed service full maintenance contract, our customers receive an all-round carefree package in which we take care of everything if necessary – from spare parts to utility parts, e.g. batteries or fans. We intervene independently of the network of the ISAR Klinikum, via a separate network via mobile phone connection via our EPS service center.”
The upgrade of the technical environment also included a new battery system, a fault-tolerant UPS power supply system (A-B system) from Eaton, and the repair of a backup generator. This means that the power supply infrastructure for the servers, telecommunications and electronic devices of the entire ISAR Clinic is available without interruption and is state-of-the-art.
