Wolfsgraben/Groß Gerungs – The Wolfsgraben volunteer fire brigade uses a diesel emergency power generator from EPS Electric Power Systems GmbH as part of the emergency power supply. On a trailer with an output of 60 kVA, the genset has a generously sized diesel tank; the backup power system can be operated at full load for up to 96 hours without interruption. This runtime is ensured by an additional 1,000-litre fuel tank. This guarantees that even in the event of a blackout, the power supply for important equipment such as drinking water and dirty water pumps will work.
Emergency power generators indispensable for emergency services
Emergency power systems are crucial wherever continuous operation is important, e.g. in data centres, hospitals, agriculture and industry. Power generators are also indispensable for the work of emergency services such as fire brigades, police, rescue services, mountain and water rescue. Fire brigades rely on the generators as a secure power supply – during operations, emergency and disaster situations as well as at events. To achieve this, the power generators must be robust and designed for use under adverse conditions. EPS supports with detailed documentation in the planning, commissioning and service of the right power generator.
Fire brigade as a point of contact in the event of a power failure
“In the event of a blackout, the Wolfsgraben fire station will act as a so-called light point, a central point of contact for the residents of Wolfsgraben. The EPS unit has been running smoothly since it was commissioned in 2023 and allows us to sleep more soundly at night,” explains Commander Florian Krebs. Verena Bröderbauer from EPS emphasizes: “Emissions from diesel emergency generators are strictly regulated in the EU. Our high-quality emergency power generators from European manufacturers comply with European safety and quality standards and comply with EU environmental and emission directives.”
